Both projects start in January 2027 and offer the chance to do rigorous, world-class research alongside a great team, on questions at the heart of the clean energy future.

Position 1

DNS & LES of fuel blends under gas turbine conditions

Dive into cutting-edge CFD and large-scale simulations to unravel how fuel blends burn under gas-turbine-relevant conditions. The focus is on flamelet modelling and analysis — high-fidelity, high-impact work.

A big plus: experience with Python, C++, and CFD.

Position 2

Modelling metal fuel combustion

Metal fuels are one of the most exciting emerging options for energy storage — the field is growing quickly, but the modelling capabilities are still catching up. That's where you come in: developing and testing combustion models against a unique experimental dataset available right here at McGill.

A big plus: a background in Python and CFD.
